The PAC 8 Hockey Conference has released its third KRACH PAC 8 Rankings and Oregon now holds the top spot in the conference.
The Ducks keep their score of 90.71 thanks in part to not playing any conference games during the month of December. As the KRACH ranking system goes, as the teams play more conference games through the season the rating numbers decrease as we see in this third ranking. Oregon has the most remaining conference games of any of the PAC 8 teams with six games left.
Arizona State slides down to number two with a score of 77.44 followed by Utah at number three with a score of 65.96. At number four is USC with a score of 50.09 and in fifth is UCLA with a score of 40.71.
The closest race in the rankings is for the sixth and final spot at the PAC 8 Championships next month as Washington still holds on to that final spot with a score of 32.05. Just on the outside looking in is Cal-Berkeley with a score of 31.77. The final spot will most likely decided at the end of the month when Cal and Washington play each other to end their conference schedules.
Washington State rounds out the standings at number eight with a score of 11.27.
With one month left before the PAC 8 Championships in Lake Tahoe, CA things are sure to heat up with some big match-up over the next couple of weeks. The final ranking will be released at the end of the month that will decide the six teams that will play for a conference title in February.
